Harley Campbell · Community focused Artist

My creative practice is just things I can do…

From photography to writing to performing to research. My creative practice is limitless (to an extent); I explore many artistic avenues whilst keeping a community and collaborative focus at the root of all my work.

About Harley

Since I was in Primary School, I have had a creative focus for over a decade. I have studied Acting (Junior Department) and am studying Arts with Community at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

I like to take an informed approach to any work I undertake, whilst still providing space for a chaotic exploration.

Since graduating from the Juniors programme at the Conservatoire, I have co-founded a production company (M3 Pictures UK), I have developed a creative research toolkit and continue to develop creatively, academically and collaboratively.

WHere my Work lies

Three keys areas

My creative practice was once described as a “beast constantly morphing”. That statement couldn’t be truer, so I managed to pin it down to three key areas.

Visual Art

I primarily focus on photography and cinematography in my visual art work.

Photography – My main focus lies here, looking at still life and nature photography

Cinematography – I choose to utilise these skills in both performance and visual art

Lighting Design – Through my time spent on the Arts With Community Course, I have gained experience in working with an ETC EOS system

Research

I have recently gained a knack for research, reading up on lots of academic papers and exploring creative research methods.

Creative Research Toolkit – Through a self-led project, I developed, designed and produced a creative research toolkit for anyone to use. I have aims to develop this further

Performing Arts

I began performing in primary school, and since then have continued to develop this further.

Acting – I have performed in a variety of styles ranging from drama to musical theatre. I also took part in the National Theatre Connections Festival 2022

Writing – I have written many stories and scripts, and produced a movie with M3 Pictures UK
