Pink Hats – M3 Pictures UK

In December 2024, I was contacted by my creative “partner-in-crime”, Greta Stakis, when she asked me to write a story based on an idea she had. After I finished writing the first draft of “Pink Hats”, we both did script editing and then began producing it.

We went through a rigorous process of setting up a production company (click here to visit the website), casting, and establishing a collaboration with the Scottish indie band Nova Scotia. I took this as a chance to expand my writing and explore the world of producing.

Taking on the executive producer role for this film, I wanted to explore options for raising funds. These funds were to help pay for props and insurance, and to reimburse the cast and crew for travel. To do this, I used Kickstarter and gained experience using the platform and raised £400. Dive – Pre-Research

As part of my first year of training on the BA Arts With Community at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, I was provided with the opportunity to take place in the research development process of DIVE, a community movement piece based off the Govanhill Baths sit-in, the longest occupation of a civic building in British history (Govanhill Baths Community Trust). During this process, I helped Bex Anson (lead artist on Dive) generate moves for the piece, generate words that could help the community cast create their own moves, undertake urban research surrounding the Govanhill Baths Building and assisting in delivering a Dive Workshop at Holyrood Secondary School.

“Exploring Grief” – A Devised Project

This project was apart of my first year of training on the BA Arts With Community at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, and was centred around devising. My group chose to focus on the feeling of grief. The group the decided upon roles, there was scriptwriters, costume designers, and stage designers, I was one of the set designers and was the lighting designer. This project offered me to the chance to create the feeling of an attic/loft, hence the boxes, covered chair and window gobo. As part of this project, I also wanted to push myself to explore a thing I hadn’t done before, therefore I also explored Live Cinema, created by Katie Mitchell. This allowed the set to have further dimensions, as by having the tv putting a live feed into the boxy tv, audience members were now able to see into the wicker basket that held key items to the story.
